The autumn epidemic is over, and the second year of the attached primary school's high-end English program has finally welcomed the long-lost students. With their familiar and lovely smiles on the campus, everything has become lively again! In this period of study life, they have brought the teachers countless surprises. They are also with the new semester's vision, little by little to create their own miracles!
High-end English program- Second Grade Preparation
At the beginning of the new semester, the foreign teachers and Chinese co-teachers of the Grade 2 International program have been working hard to prepare for the classes, which has included discussions with Australian expert Marcella on the new semester's curriculum, group lesson planning, and the selection and purchase of teaching aids for the Grade 2 International classes.
The children are currently in the communicative language stage, which is a crucial time for establishing correct language and learning habits, as well as developing their ability to solve basic problems independently.
听力和口语 Listening and Speaking
In the high-end English language program, Australian teachers will use a main theme throughout the entire learning content, using vivid scenes to arouse students' engagement and help them understand the material. We focus on developing children's listening and speaking skills, guiding them to use the vocabulary and sentence patterns they have learned to produce whole sentences, gradually expanding their learning and enriching their language. In the language lessons, the topics are interconnected with each other to facilitate the exchange of old knowledge for new, to master the old knowledge and to connect the new knowledge. The three dimensions of language (richness, accuracy and fluency) help the children to get the most out of this stage!
自然拼读和阅读Phonics and Reading
从一年级起阅读就融入到了我们的课堂中，起初孩子们以Picture Reading为主,后慢慢通过Phonics和High Frequency Words的学习逐渐过渡到Phonics Reading。本学期我们开始了Magic 100 words（魔法100词）的学习，在拓展词汇的基础上，循序渐进的培养孩子的阅读习惯，为之后的独立阅读奠定良好的基础。
This semester we have started Magic 100 words, which based on the expansion of vocabulary, gradually developed the children’s reading habits, laying a good foundation for later independent reading.
This term we are starting to guide the kids to write a weather journal where they will be writing sentences around the following four points.

The children will also be creating illustrations for their weather journal when they're finished and they'll be sharing with the class!
In addition, this term we have created an English handwriting book, where the children will copy the letters of the alphabet they have learnt after completing their phonics lesson.
In addition, the children will also use English to learn STEM, physical education, art, and music lessons.
The children work in teams to complete the LEGO Challenge Card building task given by the teacher, and share and display the completed works in class. In Lego classes, teachers not only provide students with hands-on experience, but also focus on developing students' ability to apply their knowledge to real-world problems, create, design, construct, discover, collaborate, and solve problems. The children's language skills are also practiced and enhanced in this environment.
This semester we have added the sport of Hockey to our PE curriculum. Hockey is a team sport in which children learn the importance of teamwork and team spirit.
In PE classes, we teach and demonstrate the basics of running, swinging the stick, passing and catching the ball, and shooting for the goal. After mastering the basic movements, the teachers also organized the children to play a fierce hockey game, in which the young players were very dedicated and worked very hard to win glory for their team!
艺术课上，老师围绕语言学习部分中的天气主题，带着孩子们一起进行了多种多样的艺术创造，包括cloud man/woman、season tree等等。
In the art classes, the teacher led the children together to create a variety of art projects, including a cloud man/woman, a season tree, and more, based on the weather theme in the language learning section.
During music lessons, the teacher and the children enjoy music clips together. We encourage the students, individually or in groups of three or four, to stretch out to the rhythm and explore the space around them with their classmates. At the same time, the teacher will guide the children through a list of exercises based on their knowledge of music taught in class. The children are able to enrich their knowledge of language as well as their musical knowledge.
The smiles on the children's faces in every class are our greatest inspiration and encouragement. With this passion, we hope to bring our children not only fun and relaxing classes, but also the most beautiful memories of their childhood. We take care keeping track of their growth. May the children be like a flock of happy birds soaring in the blue sky of BFSU Foreign Language School.
